Verdin is the New York label of Gustavo Nuñez, who grew up in Guadalajara, Mexico, studied fashion in Los Angeles, and worked at Marchesa and Reem Acra before starting his own line in 2017. It began as eveningwear and moved into bridal for fall 2021, after his own wedding, and it is named for his mother, who first got him interested in design. The gowns are made in New York's Garment District, and the look is a fitted bustier, sharp silhouettes and slim skirts, with lace and a little Mexican-inspired detail, and plenty of pieces that work as separates. It is sold at Kleinfeld in New York, which is where to try it on. Most dresses run about $3,600 to $7,200, and the debut collection was priced from $3,000 to $6,000.
