Hera Couture is an Auckland, New Zealand bridal label that Katie Yeung started in 2010, and she runs it with her husband Cliff. She was born in Hong Kong and moved to New Zealand as a child, learning to sew from her mother, a couturier who opened a small custom-garment shop when the family arrived in 1989, particularly for women with curvier figures. That is why patterns are drafted on real bodies of all shapes and sizes, and Yeung describes the look as trend-inspired but not trend-driven, with modern silhouettes meant to last. Design happens in her Auckland studio, with a team of couturiers at an atelier in Hong Kong. We have just one gown listed at Kleinfeld, at $4,035, and the brand usually lists prices as price on application.
